Today we leave the high mountain region and travel towards the Swiss border. ![]() If you still have time, visit the Cathedral of Sankt Blasien, or visit the Badische Staatsbrauerei Rothaus, the most famous brewery in the Black Forest. Afterwards drive to lake Schluchsee, rent a boat on the river or just go for a walk and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Take the cable car to the top of the Feldberg and enjoy stunning panoramic views of mountain peaks in three different countries. On route you can stop at a distillery where the famous Kirsch for the Black Forest Gateau and other fruit schnapps are produced. Our journey then continues through beautiful countryside and past the Feldberg, the highest mountain in Germany outside of the Alps. In the morning, visit the bustling market in Freiburg that surrounds the cathedral and purchase some of the local produce. Or just relax at the campsite in the heart of the Black Forest mountains. Enjoy the historic town centre with the beautiful cathedral and small streams and try some of the local delicacies and wine. Visit Freiburg, also known as the sunny city, it is only a short train journey away from our campsite. On route through the scenic valleys there is lots to see but do not miss the famous Triberg waterfalls. Visit the German Clock Museum or buy yourself a cuckoo clock in one of the many stores. We continue our journey via Furtwangen the centre of the clock making industry in the Black Forest. You can also cycle along the river Kinzig and take the train back to the campsite. Within a short driving distance from the campsite you can visit the Black Forest Open Air Museum. Close to the campsite you can visit the last glassworks in the Black Forest that still manufactures mouthblown glass and make your own glass vase. On route stop at a monastery beer brewery or walk through the historic town of Schiltach with its many half-timbered houses. Close to our campsite you can experience the “barefoot trail”. On the way to Dornstetten you can take the scenic Black Forest Ridgeway (Schwarzwaldhochstrasse) and visit on route the city of Baden-Baden, a swish spa town. In the evening we will have a wine tasting and a guided tour of the wine cellar, followed by a group dinner in a nearby restaurant in order to get to know each other Day 2: Ortenau Wine Region – Dornstetten We will start our tour in the beautiful Ortenau wine region. A highlight of the Tour is the waterfalls of the Rhine in Schaffhausen, just across the border in Switzerland. We will stay at lake Constance, giving you a chance to visit the flower island of Mainau and the beautiful cities of Konstanz and Lindau with the charming port connecting Germany, Austria and Switzerland. ![]() Enjoy the scenery of Germany’s largest waterfall in Triberg and lakes like Titisee or Schluchsee. On the way you can visit the German Clock museum and see the world largest cuckoo clock. Our Tour will take us from the north of the Black Forest to the Alpine foothills in Switzerland. It is a region of stunning natural beauty of wooded hills, rolling meadows and charming towns and villages as well as relaxing spas. The Black Forest is more than the home of the cuckoo clock and Black Forest Gateau.
